Michael Clark serves as the Senior Advisor and Director of Strategic Engagement for Massachusetts Senator Eric P. Lesser (D-Longmeadow). In this role, Michael works with constituents, elected officials, advocates, and stakeholders to build strong, grassroots support for Senator Lesser's legislative goals.
Prior to becoming Senator Advisor, Michael served as Chief of Staff for Senator Lesser during his first term. Michael is also a veteran of several political campaigns including Senator Lesser's first campaign for office where he served as Campaign Manager.
Michael's interest in public service began when he ran for Selectmen in Longmeadow, MA in 2010. Though unsuccessful, his first bid for office cemented his passion for public service. In the summer of 2010, Michael was appointed to the Longmeadow Finance Committee, responsible for oversight of the town's budget. In 2011, at 21 years of age, Michael became the youngest person ever elected to the Longmeadow School Committee where he currently serves in his second term.
Since his first run for office, Michael has developed a reputation as a hard working, thoughtful leader in his community and throughout Western Massachusetts. He serves on several community boards including the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts.
Michael was named the 2014 "Best City or Town Local Official" by the annual Masslive.com Reader Raves contest. Michael was also named as one of BusinessWest Magazine's 40 Under 40 Class of 2016. Michael was also awarded the 2013 Member Achievement Award by the Longmeadow Democratic Town Committee where se serves as the Town Government Liaison and Media Secretary.
Michael earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
